1. Commercial documents

  • Commercial invoice: precise description, value, Incoterm and buyer details
  • Packing list: number of packages, weights, volumes, consistent with the invoice
  • Contract or order: terms of sale and payment

2. Certificates, depending on product and destination

  • Phytosanitary certificate for plant products (vanilla, spices, fruit)
  • Health certificate for seafood and products of animal origin
  • Certificate of origin, including EUR.1 to benefit from tariff preferences into the European Union
  • Sector-specific authorisations: check before the season

3. Customs and loading

The export declaration is prepared and filed by a licensed customs broker (CAD). After inspection and approval, the goods are loaded: at the port of Toamasina for ocean freight, at Ivato airport for air freight.

When should I prepare the certificates?

As early as possible: some certificates require an inspection of the goods. Plan for them, especially at the height of the season (lychees, vanilla).

Can you check my file before shipment?

Yes, that is our job as a licensed customs broker: we review your documents before departure.

Where do you export from?

By sea from Toamasina, where we have an office, and by air from Ivato airport, next to our Antananarivo office.
